Q1:No image output via the SDI/HDMI interface after decoding.

A1: Decoding failure, no picture in the preview window.

The signal connection status on the right does not show a successful connection. If it shows connected, it might be a browser issue. Try a different browser and press Ctrl+F5 to force a cache refresh while observing the preview to see if the picture returns to normal. Alternatively, in the decoder’s SRT/UDP stream settings, increase the reconnection time. Appropriately increasing the reconnection time can prevent the decoder from repeatedly pulling the video stream, which may cause decoding failure.

A2.:Decoding successful, there is a picture in the preview window.

A picture in the preview window indicates the decoder has successfully obtained the stream, but it’s not being output to the HDMI/SDI interface. On the decoder’s web management page, check the HDMI/SDI output option in the output settings in the upper right corner.

A3.:If there is a picture in the preview, but no picture on some monitors.

This might be caused by color space incompatibility. Try changing the HDMI output setting from RGB to YCBCR.

A4.:Check if the signal source is normal.

If the decoding status on the right shows “Connection Failed,” use VLC or NDITools to check if the signal source is normal.

Q2: Decoded picture is lagging/stuttering.

A1. High latency due to long-distance network transmission.

If the encoding method allows buffer time settings, try gradually increasing the transmission buffer time and observe if the decoding picture normalizes. After increasing the buffer time, it is recommended to re-pull the decoding video stream.

A2:Network packet loss due to poor network quality.

Use the ping function to check network latency. If there is severe packet loss, you can also use software like VLC to decode and test whether the issue is caused by network problems affecting normal decoding. Picture stuttering can also occur if there is packet loss; the network packet loss issue needs to be resolved.

A3:Insufficient decoding performance.

Check if there is an “Insufficient Performance” prompt in the upper right corner. Our decoder’s performance is calculated based on the total number of streams decoded for both OUT1 and OUT2 together. If you are only using OUT1 and see an “Insufficient Performance” prompt before reaching the stream limit, check if there are also streams being decoded in OUT2. Furthermore, our decoder uses substreams for decoding multiple streams. Especially for NDI|HB signals, decoding the substream is necessary to reach the maximum decoding capacity. You can change the setting from “Auto” to “Substream” in the decoding settings

A4.:The video itself uses special encoding.

Use other software like VLC or Potplayer to decode the same stream for comparison. Some video streams contain special encoding information that can cause decoding stuttering. If the stuttering also occurs in these software players, the issue needs to be resolved by adjusting settings at the encoding end.

Q3:Abnormal color in the decoded output.

A1:Replace the cable.

Try different HDMI or SDI cables. You can also test both HDMI output interfaces to rule out issues caused by the cable or a specific port.

A2:Color space incompatibility.

The abnormal display might be caused by color space incompatibility. Try changing the HDMI output setting from RGB to YCBCR.
